JEA linemen working hurricane damage in Lumberton, N.C.

Jackson Energy Authority has 10 linemen – Richie White, Chris Deaton, Adam Phillips, Jacob Myracle, Harvey Ingram, Miller Pounds, Michael Darby, Zack Zehner, Charlie Jones, and Luke Cain – assisting in the storm damage created by Hurricane Florence.

“Electricities of North Carolina first requested mutual aid ahead of Florence making landfall,” said Monte Cooper, PE Sr. VP Electric Division at JEA, “Our crews headed out and were first requested to assist in Apex, North Carolina.

“With the more southern movement of Florence, Apex was not impacted as expected, and our crews were released to head south and help in Lumberton, North Carolina.

“That is where JEA crews remain, assisting in restoring power to the people of that community.”
