JEA Board of Directors approve 8 resolutions during monthly meeting

The Board of Directors of Jackson Energy Authority approved eight resolutions during their monthly meeting at the Tennergy Center, Thursday.

 

“The JEA board reviewed eight resolutions at the December meeting,” said Monte Jones, chairman of the Board of Directors at Jackson Energy Authority. “Three of those resolutions were for contracting or consulting services, three were for equipment or plant expenses, one was for banking services, and the other was for a customer service policy. All items were approved.

 

“Also, the board heard updates on the financial condition of all divisions and recognized some associates on their upcoming retirements. An updated organizational chart was reviewed that follows JEA’s succession planning for their management roles.”

 

The resolutions –

 

  • Ratified the labor contract for the Owens Corning Unit Substations 15,16, and 17 Replacement Project for an updated cost of $347,393.

 

  • Authorized the purchase of a replacement dump truck for the Gas Division. TAG Truck Center, Inc. of Jackson, Tennessee, for $127,577.26.

 

  • Authorized the purchase of a propane delivery truck for the Gas Division. White River Distributors of Batesville, Ark., submitted the low bid of $229,620.

 

  • Reaffirmed JEA’s Identity Theft Prevention Policy to comply with revisions of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACT Act of 2003).

 

  • Authorized an agreement with Aon Consulting to provide actuarial and administrative services for Jackson Energy Authority’s defined benefit pension plan and other post-employment benefits.

 

  • Renewed a consulting service agreement with Robert W. Baird & Company. Incorporated as investment manager for JEA’s defined benefit pension and other post-employment benefit funds.

 

  • Authorized banking services.

 

  • Authorized a contract with Prudential for providing employee life, accidental death and dismemberment, and long-term disability insurances.
