The largest water tank on Jackson Energy Authority’s water system will be constructed near the Airport Industrial Park.
The cost for the 2.5 million gallon elevated tank is estimated at $4.5 million.
Steve Raper, Senior Vice President Water and Wastewater Systems at Jackson Energy Authority, said the tank will serve current water needs and provide for future growth in the area.
“The tank column will be constructed of reinforced concrete and the tank / bowl will be constructed of steel,” Raper said, “The time of completion is expected to be 20-to-21 months, and painting will be similar to other JEA water tanks.
“The last elevated water tank was built on Crawford Springs Road in 1999.”
