An investigation continues in a case involving a smash-and-grab at JCPenney inside the Old Hickory Mall, 2021 North Highland Avenue, at 7:55 p.m., Monday.
The number of people who targeted jewelry cases or the value of the merchandise stolen was not reported.
The incident is the second reported at JCPenney and fourth overall at the Mall this year.
The Jackson Police continues an investigation into a ‘smash & grab’ incident that occurred at approximately 6:45 p.m., May 20, at JCPenney.
Kay Jewelers was targeted at approximately 4:14 p.m., July 5.
Employees inside the business witnessed four black males enter the business and use hammers to smash jewelry cases.
Approximately $20,000 in merchandise was stolen from the business.
The suspects fled the scene in a white Dodge Charger with temporary tags and a black Mercedes – westbound.
The smash-and-grab was the second at Kay Jewelers in less than six weeks.
On May 28, thieves stole $200,000 worth of jewelry.
