Jacksonians take marathon, 1/2 marathon titles; UT president Randy Boyd participates

Jackson residents placed first and second overall in the 50th running of the Andrew Jackson Marathon, Saturday.

Casey Johnson, 35, posted a time of 3:14:40, and was followed by fellow Jacksonian Bob Ingalls, 32, who crossed the finish line at the West Tennessee Farmers’ Market in 3:17:10.

Keiko Tateiwa, a resident of Nolensville, won the women’s race in 3:32:40.

Tateiwa finished eighth overall.

Richard Dorris, 29, from Jackson, won the 13.1 mile half marathon in a time of 1:24:14.

Laura Wells, 38, won the women’s race.

The Lexington native covered the course in 1:26:35.

Randy Boyd, president of the University of Tennessee, participated in the half marathon and finished with a 1:51:59.

The oldest marathon in the State of Tennessee which started on West Lafayette Street, had 280 entrants – 48 completed the marathon and 155 the half marathon.
