The movie ‘Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,’ debuted in 1967, starring Sidney Poitier, Katharine Houghton and Spencer Tracy.
But area talent takes center stage when The Jackson Theatre Guild presents the production live at The Ned, 314 East Main Street, April 4-7.
Christina Drayton is played by Jacksonian Dana Poteete; Matt Drayton is played by David Lundgren; Joanna Drayton (Megan Christoferson); Dr. John Prentice (Ontoni Reedy); Matilda Binks (Sally Dickerson); Hillary is played by Beth Gobbell; Monsignor Ryan (Lanny Poteet) John Prentice Sr. (Keith Davis) and Mary Prentice is played by Carrie Knox.
Billy Worboys is directing the play.
“Maybe there is hope for humanity afterall,” Worboys said, “Come see this stellar cast tell this captivating story about how love conquers all.”
A preview party will be held Wednesday, April 3.
The production will be held at 7 p.m., Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Matinees will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.
