It’s not often that the residents at Jackson Meadow have a touring theater troupe in their midst but Monday was an exception. The Jackson Teen Theater production of William Shakespeare’s “Julius Caesar” came to Jackson Meadow for a midday performance. The classic has been adapted by John Hardy to run one hour and fifteen minutes to take audiences through a fast paced pivotal moment in history.
Before the production reaches The Ned stage, the Teen Theater will take the show ‘on the road’ to Brookdale Assisted Living, The Jackson Madison County Library, Southside High School, and Liberty Tech.
“We’re touring to bring theatre to the students and seniors in our community. Traditionally the community comes to us; now The Ned wants to bring theatre into the community”, says Ned Executive Director David McCall. The community shows are made possible by the City of Jackson Recreation and Parks Department.
The Ned performances of “Julius Caesar” are March 1 and 2 at 7 PM. For tickets visit thened.jacksontn.org
