Led by new field manager J.T. Scara, the Jackson Rockabillys open their second season at the Ballpark at Jackson when they face the Full Count Rhythm at 7 p.m., today.
J.T. Scara has over 14 years of professional and collegiate coaching experience. Most recently, he spent the previous four summers as field manager in the Northwoods League.
He took over managerial duties on an interim basis for the Rockford Rivets final 2 weeks of the 2019 season. He returned to Rockford for the ’21 and ’22 seasons, leading the Rivets to a 37-35 mark, marking the Rivets second winning season in franchise history.
The Rockabillys, who will host the Cape Catfish at 7 p.m., Wednesday, are members of the 18-team Prospect League.
The Prospect League is a top summer collegiate wood bat baseball league. The purpose of the league is to: (a) Provide family friendly, affordable baseball entertainment in the communities where our teams are located; (b) Provide a summer baseball program for eligible college players to give them experience using a wood bat in a competitive atmosphere; (c) Provide a venue to allow MLB Scouts to watch collegiate prospects using wood bats against live pitching in competition.
