Jackson Police Investigate Afternoon Shooting

Police Investigate Shooting

Around 1: 35 p.m. today, a 26-year-old Jackson man was driven to the Jackson- Madison County General Hospital by a family member with a gunshot wound. The investigation thus far has shown that the man was a passenger in a car and was riding in Lincoln Courts. As they rode past a group of people who were standing outside, a shot was fired and the victim suffered a single gunshot wound to the right shoulder. He was then driven to the hospital. At this writing, he is in very critical condition. Ladairus Maxwell is a "person of interest" in today's shooting.

Ladarius Maxwell Maxwell is believed to have shot at the same man earlier this month. On March 3 shortly before 3 p.m., the 26-year-old man was approached by Maxwell in Lincoln Courts, as the man was getting out of a car. Maxwell then shot a gun at him multiple times but the man was not struck. Maxwell is wanted by Jackson police for Aggravated Assault in that incident.

Ladairus Maxwell is 18 years-old, 5 ' 11" in height and weighs about 140 pounds. His last known address is in the 200 block of Division Avenue in Jackson.
