The suspect has since been taken into custody, and the small child has been safely recovered and is unharmed.

[Jackson, TN]- Officers with the Jackson Police Department are currently on scene on Brentwood Drive following a report of an Aggravated Domestic Assault.

Upon arrival, officers determined that a 39-year-old male suspect allegedly assaulted his girlfriend and discharged a firearm inside the residence. A small child is believed to remain inside the home at this time.

Due to the circumstances, the Jackson Police Department has deployed its SWAT team and Hostage Negotiators to the scene. The incident remains active and ongoing.
