(July 26, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- Jackson Police Chief Gill Kendrick was awarded the Tennessee Association of Chiefs of Police Joe Casey Award earlier in the month.
According to a press release, the award is given, “in recognition of a Chief of Police (active or retired) who has distinguished himself in the TACP through their character, efforts, guidance, dedication, generosity, and indefinite concern.”
The award was presented to Chief Kendrick by retired Metro Nashville Police Chief Joe Casey. Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey and Senator Becky Massey were also in attendance.
Chief Kendrick was the president of TACP from 2009 to 2010 and served on the board of directors from 2007 to 2011.
Chief Kendrick said that, "I consider myself honored among my peers to be the recipient of the Joe Casey Award.”
