Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault
Jackson police arrested John Edward Clark, 45, of Jackson, around 11 a.m. Monday. He faces a charge of Aggravated Assault.
On November 26, 2010, a 43-year-old, St. Louis, MO, man was in town visiting. Around 10:45 p.m., he was at the Sunset Café at 146 Middle Ave. He became involved in an argument with a man who he had never met. As the St. Louis man was about to leave, the suspect grabbed his hand, bit a part of his finger off and spit it on the floor.
The man and the detached part of his finger were taken to a local hospital. Medical personnel attempted to reattach the part of the finger but were unsuccessful.
Investigators were able to identify Clark as the suspect.
