The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 75-year-old male died Jan. 16 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 158 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 21 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 9,926 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 8,678 have recovered.
The newest confirmed cases range from ages 3 to 85.
Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Twenty-four Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Five of those patients are on a ventilator.
