The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 84-year-old male died Jan. 15 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 157 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 68 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 9,905 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 8,517 have recovered.
The newest confirmed cases range from ages 6 to 79.
Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Thirty Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Four of those patients are on a ventilator.
