The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 63-year-old male died Jan. 11 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 151 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 49 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 9,663 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 6,978 have recovered.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 4 to 94.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twenty-three Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Four of those patients are on a ventilator.
