From Jackson Fire Chief Darryl Samuels –

Jackson Firefighter Ray B. Harvison, an eight-year veteran of the Jackson Fire
Department, was arrested January 21, 2020.

Pending an internal investigation, Harvison was placed on administrative leave.

We expect members of the Jackson Fire Department to maintain the highest level of personal conduct
and professional standards. We, also, expect our members to promote a positive image of themselves,
the Department and the City of Jackson at all times with a commitment to support the mission and values of the Jackson Fire Department.

Our mission is to provide the best possible fire protection and life safety measures to its citizens and
visitors.
