The Jackson Energy Authority’s Board of Directors approved six resolutions during their monthly meeting at The Tennergy Center.
“The JEA board meeting was held in the newly renovated Tennergy boardroom in July,” Monte Jones said. “Six new items of business were discussed and approved by the board including updates to the safety manual, a contract renewal, equipment purchases and property for the Care Center.”
Monte Jones is chairman of the Board of Directors, Jackson Energy Authority.
“Also, the board gave special recognition to the JEA electric team that participated in a recent lineman rodeo,” Jones said. “The team was very successful along with several individuals who were acknowledged for their performances.”
Resolutions adopted, authorized or approved included –
· Adopted the APPA Safety Manual, 17th Edition as the official safety manual of Jackson Energy Authority’s Electric System
· Authorized a contract with Yandell Construction Services, Inc. for Miscellaneous Concrete Installation on an as-needed basis for a one-year period beginning September 1, 2025, not to exceed $199,400.00.
· Approved the appointment of Judy Hensley to serve as a member of the Employee Health and Welfare Benefits Committee for a five-year term expiring June 30, 2030.
· Approved the purchase of six (6) service bodies totaling $116,913.03 from Knapheide Truck Equipment Memphis of Olive Branch, MS meeting the Authority’s specifications and as verified by the submitted bids as follows:
· Four (4) service bodies mounted on 2025 Ford F-250 4WD extended cab
& chassis for $76,750.72.
· One (1) service body with Tommy Lift Gate mounted on a 2022 Ford F-250
extended cab & chassis for $19,305.76.
· One (1) service body mounted on a 2025 Ford F-550 diesel 2WD crew cab
& chassis with dual rear wheels for $20,856.55.
· Approved the purchase of first right of refusal of the Care Center property at 351 North Liberty in exchange for JEA property at 349 and 355 North Church Street and the Care Center’s agreement to pay JEA the amount of $55,000.
· Approved a banking resolution that removes Rowland R. Fisher, who retired on June 30, 2025, as an authorized signatory representative.
