It was a first for the Board of Directors at Jackson Energy Authority when its monthly meeting was conducted by ZOOM Video.
“JEA continues to conduct business and had several important items for board consideration today including water and wastewater system improvement projects,” Monte Jones, chairman of the Board, said, “We are working with the City to stay within the recommended guidelines while continuing to provide service to our clients in a safe and effective manner.
“Walk in traffic to the Customer Service Centers is currently unavailable, but business can be conducted at the drive through and KIOSK services at both locations.”
Board members authorized nine resolutions, which included –
- A contract for the purchase of the Johnson Creek Unit Substation
- A contract for the purchase of weathered steel transmission poles
- A miscellaneous Electric, Gas, Water, Wastewater and Telecom directional boring contract with Jackson Boring & Trenching, LLC
- A contract to replace the roof at the Telecom Operations Building, 604 South Royal Street.
- A contract for roof replacement at the Tennergy Building, 250 North Highland Avenue
- The purchase of Stainless Piping Assemblies at JEA’s Miller Wastewater and Middlefork Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTP)
- A contract for replacement or repair/rehab of Low & High Service Pumps at JEA’s Water Treatment Plants
- A contract for cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) for the South Royal Stret Wastewater Main Rehabilitation project
- A contract for Gravity Sewer Boring Improvements on JEA’s Wastewater System
