The Jackson Energy Authority Board of Directors held their monthly meeting at the Tennergy Building, Thursday.
Board members –
- Heard a presentation from Sam Crewse, JEA’s Financial Advisor, on the bond market which specifically included information on municipal bonds and the current bond ratings for each JEA division.
- Received an update on the recent weather event and its impact on the system. “JEA’s system performed well during this event with only small outages due to the cold temperatures,” said Monte Jones, JEA’s chairman of the board, “Customers with questions about their bills that covered this time period can contact customer service.”
- Received an update on the TVA contract was covered and will continue to be monitored by the board.
- Approved a resolution for expansion of the Gas System to better serve the southeast area.
- Approved a contract for cleaning, repair and painting of the Middleton Water Tank. This update will also include a new logo on the tank for Lane College.
- Approved a resolution authorizing Telecommunications service rate adjustments as a result of increases from various carriers.
- The board recognized Nancy Nanney for her years of service, dedication and contribution to the financial health of JEA. Nancy will retire at the end of February.
