Jackson Christian Early Learning Village holds Trike-A-Thon; donates $13K to St. Jude Children’s Hospital

JACKSON, Tennessee – Jackson Christian’s Early Learning Village donated $13,000 to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in honor of their classmate, Selah. Selah, age three, fights a rare form of brain cancer called DIPG. Her Jackson Christian family rallied to support her and children like her at St. Jude.

“Our original goal for the event was to raise $8,000,” Director of ELV Mary Ramey said. “We are thrilled to surpass that goal and to celebrate the good days with Selah and her family.”

According to a press release from Janet Wylie – Jackson Christian’s Director of Marketing & Public Relations – students from two- to five-years-old brought bikes, trikes, and scooters to ride in the event.

As a reward, the student with the most donations was given the privilege of “pie-ing” Coach Adam Brower in the face at the event.

Junior kindergarten student Andi Bradford happily “pied” Brower as her older brother Carter, also a patient at St. Jude, cheered.

“Our student-families are remarkable in the way we come together and support each other,” Ramey said. “We are often described as a family, and today is an example of how we love one another and our community.”
