JACKSON, Tennessee – Jackson Christian School, a private, Christian-based college preparatory school located in Jackson, Tennessee, is pleased to launch the ABLE Program for young-adult high school graduates who live with documented intellectual or developmental challenges.

According to a press release from Janet Wylie – Director of Marketing & Public Relations, Jackson Christian School – ABLE serves as a stepping stone from student to adulthood, helping recent graduates “Achieve Beyond Limited Expectations.”

ABLE provides a transitional learning environment as young adults progress from a traditional education setting to living and working independently in the community. ABLE is an extension of Jackson Christian’s Harmony program that serves special needs students grades K-12.

“As our Harmony students grow and graduate, we recognize a need to help these students transition, become sufficient and serve the community around them,” ABLE Director Joy Phillips said. “Jackson Christian has a rich history of advocacy for our special needs students, and the ABLE program is another example of that advocacy.”

ABLE students spend three days a week in various community settings and are exposed to real-world experiences with guidance and instruction from ABLE educators and staff.
