Owners of two convenience stores – Horizon Shell, 340 Parkstone Place and Circle Food Mart, 1625 East Chester Street, appeared before the Jackson Beer Board for a Show Cause hearing following the result of an underage alcohol operation conducted by Metro Narcotics.
The meeting was held at Jackson City Hall, Thursday.
Horizon was fined $500 for a first offense and will have a 30-day suspension of sales suspended if the fine is paid within seven days.
Circle Food Mart was fined $1,000 and will have a 30-day suspension of sales suspended if the fine is paid within seven days.
Go Gas Quick, 107 Carriage House Drive, was scheduled to appear at the meeting, but the convenience store was not represented at the meeting.
The convenience store received a 30-day suspension of beer sales, but will be given the option at a hearing.
