Rep. Chris Todd and Sen. Ed Jackson dedicated the Interstate-40 bridge over Hollywood Drive in honor of W.G. Sonny Dement, Jr., Friday.
“Sonny Dement, Jr. was an incredible person who embodied the values that make our state and nation exceptional,” said State Representative Chris Todd, R-Madison County. ” I would not be where I am today without his guidance and steady leadership, and I know he made a lasting impact on countless lives.
“It’s only fitting that we dedicate this bridge in his honor, more than 65 years after he helped build the original at this site. I’m deeply grateful for Sonny’s influence on my life and our state, and I hope this memorial serves as a lasting reminder of what it means to be a Tennessean.”
