Hospital Equipment Upgrades Discussed at Monthly Board Meeting

(November 26, 2013) Jackson, Tenn.- The Board of Trustees for West Tennessee Healthcare held their penultimate meeting for 2013 Tuesday evening.

At the meeting, the board approved replacing three ultrasound machines. They will trade in three of the units they are replacing toward the cost of the new macines.

The Quality Plus team had their monthly meeting earlier in the month and reported the results of that meeting to the board with a dashboard report.

The team reported that they are working to reduce the number of falls and preventing pressure ulcers. The team also explained that their stroke compliance has improved.

One of the next challenges the Quality Plus team is going to tackle is improving the flow of the Emergency Department. Not many details were discussed at the meeting, but the board will be presented more information at a later board meeting.

Bobby Arnold, President and CEO of West Tennessee Healthcare, thanked those that helped at the West Tennessee Healthcare Foundation Gala. He also thanked the Ayers family for their donation.

Final accounting for the event has not been completed yet, but will be presented to the board at their last meeting of 2013.
