History comes down on Arlington Avenue

Once the focal point of little league baseball in Jackson is being demolished.

Lions Field, which opened on Arlington Avenue in 1957, was home to a group of 12-year-olds – American League All-Stars – who would reach the pinnacle for their age in 1974 – the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Now 50 years later, all that is about to remain is a concrete slab and a parking lot.
