WSMV-TV reports ( ) that 52-year-old Lorye Harness has been suspended without pay after she was charged with official misconduct, assault and false imprisonment.

Authorities said Harness had a verbal altercation with a man on the side of the road on Aug. 14. Deputies said Harness and the man did not know each other. Harness was off-duty at the time of the altercation.

Harness has been released on a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 19.
