The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 79-year-old male died Dec. 4 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 113 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 60 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 6,241 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 5,222 have recovered.

The newest confirmed cases range from ages 3 to 73.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twenty-six Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Six of those patients are on a ventilator.
