The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 76-year-old male died Jan. 23 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 163 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 18 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 10,296 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 9,321 have recovered.
The newest confirmed cases range from ages 16 to 80.
Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Sixteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Two of those patients are on a ventilator.
