The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 101-year-old female died Aug. 26 due to complications from COVID-19. Madison County now has 39 COVID-19 related deaths.

The health department received positive test results for 49 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 2,160 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 1,753 recovered.

The newest confirmed cases include 26 males, 23 females, and range from ages 3 to 92.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twenty-three Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Three of those patients are on a ventilator.
