The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 85-year-old male died Aug. 21 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 34 in Madison County.
The health department received positive test results for 42 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 2,002 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 1,481 recovered.
The newest confirmed cases include 16 males, 26 females, and range from ages 18 to 84.
Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.
Twenty Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Two of those patients are on a ventilator.
