The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 92-year-old female died Aug. 31 and a 68-year-old male died Sept. 4 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 58 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 20 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 2,908 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 2,500 recovered.

The newest confirmed cases include 11 males, 9 females, and range from ages 7 to 73.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Seven Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. One of those patients is on a ventilator.
