The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 76-year-old male died Aug. 31 and an 88-year-old male died Sept. 1 due to complications from COVID-19. We now have 48 COVID-19 related deaths in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 37 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 2,358 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 1,913 recovered.

The newest confirmed cases include 14 males, 23 females, and range from ages 11 to 92.

OUr Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Twenty-seven Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Three of those patients are on a ventilator.
