The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms an 86-year-old male and a 75-year-old male died Aug. 27 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 41 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 45 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 2,205 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 1,762 recovered.

The newest confirmed cases include 17 males, 28 females, and range from ages 9 to 99.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Thirty Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Two of those patients are on a ventilator.
