The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department confirms a 73-year-old female died Sept. 27 due to complications from COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 71 in Madison County.

The health department received positive test results for 31 more cases of COVID-19. We now have 3,286 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County – 2,986 recovered.

The newest confirmed cases include 20 males, 11 females, and range from ages 13 to 81.

Our Epidemiology staff is reaching out to these individuals and people who had close contact with these cases.

Six Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. None of those patients are on a ventilator.
