Health Department – 2 additional COVID-19 related deaths; 742 confirmed cases – up 40 from Tuesday

The Jackson-Madison County Regional Health Department received positive test results for 40 more confirmed cases of COVID-19. We now have 742 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Madison County.

A 62-year-old male and 69-year-old male both died this week due to complications from COVID-19, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 10 in Madison County.

The newest confirmed cases include:

Our Epidemiology staff is still trying to contact some of these individuals, so hospitalization status is unknown at this time. We are also reaching out to people who had close contact with these cases.

Thirteen Madison County residents are currently hospitalized. Three of those patients are on a ventilator.

Four hundred eighty-four Madison County residents have recovered from COVID-19, and 31 people say they are feeling better.
