Harvey pleads guilty to DUI, unlawful possession of firearm

General Sessions Division I Judge Hugh Harvey Jr., charged with Driving Under the Influence and unlawful possession of a firearm in August, pleaded guilty and fined $350 and sentenced to serve 11 months, 29 days in the Madison County Jail, Tuesday.

Judge Joseph Howell suspended the jail sentence except for ’48 hours day for day,’ on condition of good behavior, payment of fines, costs and taxes.

Harvey will also be under supervised probation for 11 months, 29 days, and he must forfeit a handgun he had in his possession during the traffic stop.

An officer with the Tennessee Highway Patrol made the arrest and transported Harvey to the Madison County Criminal Justice Complex, where he was booked on the charges.

After being booked in Madison County, Harvey was transported to the Chester County jail facility in Henderson where he was held pending his initial hearing and bail being set.
