(December 11, 2014) MADISON County — A Madison County resident says guns were stolen from a vehicle in his driveway sometime late Wednesday Night or early Thursday morning.
The report states the burglary occured at a residence on Tuckahoe Street.
According to the victim, he left his vehicle unlocked overnight in his driveway. The victim alleges that upon getting in his vehicle the next day he noticed two guns were missing. The victim say thieves got away with a 12 guage Winchester shotgun (brown) and a 20 guage Mossberg pump shotgun (camouflage).
The investigation is ongoing.
Sheriff John Mehr says this is another example of thieves looking for opportunities. Â The thief didn’t have to break glass or make any noise. Â That is just what they are looking for, says Mehr. Â Hide your valuables or better yet take them in your house, Lock Your Vehicle, and Take Your Keys.
