The restaurant under construction at 620 Carriage House Drive, is not the only business venture for Riad Razeq and Ziyad Qaadan in Jackson.

But it is the first Checkers Drive-In Restaurant for the twosome, who also own five convenience stores in the city.

“We are the Checkers franchisee in Jackson,” Riad said. “We are building our first Checkers Drive-Thru restaurant in Jackson. (It is) known for good quality food … at a very affordable cost.”

A few of the menu items include hamburgers, fries, hot dogs, chicken, fish, wings, ice cream and soft drinks for the restaurant, which is one of the largest chains of double drive-thru restaurants in the United States.

Hoyt Hayes Construction is building the 1,000-square-foot facility located between Logan’s Roadhouse and O’Charley’s Restaurant & Bar.

“Checkers, for so many years, has proven their brand, and is dedicated to be the place where a franchisee and employees who work hard can create opportunities for themselves, their family and their community,” Riad said. “Jackson, Tennessee will celebrate the opening of our first Checkers Drive-Thru restaurant sometime in May, here at Carriage House Drive.”

Riad said he and Ziyad are looking at locations for a second Checkers Drive-Thru Restaurant for Jackson.
