One day after the gates at The Ballpark at Jackson were padlocked, the front office staff of the Jackson Generals were preparing for a doubleheader between the Winnipeg Goldeyes and the Kane County Cougars, today – until the rain came.
Management with the Generals said the doubleheader has been postponed, and the two teams – weather permitting – will play a doubleheader, beginning at 3:05 p.m., Thursday.
Thursday will be ‘Dollar Day and Night” at the ballpark sponsored by Leader’s Credit Union. General admission tickets, hot dogs, popcorn, soft drinks and beer will be available for $1 each.
Lewis Cobb, Jackson City Attorney, could not be reached for comment.
The Goldeyes continue their homestand when the Sioux Fall Canaries visit the ballpark at 7 p.m., Friday, while the Cougars make an 11 hour bus trip to Lincoln, Nebraska, to open a series against the Lincoln Saltdogs.
