Following a 2-0 win over Biloxi, The Jackson Generals, the Double A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, are one win away from repeating the Southern League champions.
The Generals, who lead the best-of-five series 2-1, and with a win in Game 4, which begins at 6:05 p.m., Saturday, the franchise will also its third league championship in the last four years.
Winning pitcher Matt Peacock allowed two hits in 5.2 innings of work, and the Generals scored the only run they would need in the bottom of the fourth when Pavin Smith chased Daulton Varsho home with a double to center.
A Varsho double in the bottom of the sixth scored Ben DeLuzio with the second – and final – run of the game.
The game attracted 1,746 fans.
