Gary Deaton has been re-elected as chairman of the Madison County Commission.
Deaton and fellow commissioners Mike Taylor – who withdrew his nomination – and Claudell Brown were nominated for the position when the commission held its monthly meeting at the West Tennessee Research & Education Center, Monday.
Deaton .represents District 4.
He was first elected to the commission in 1996 and received 14 votes, Brown nine, and one commissioner passed.
Harold Petty was absent.
