Last night (Thursday) Jackson’s Friends of Heart organization celebrated with friends and donors their two-year anniversary—and they earned new support from at least two major donors who announced contributions.
Dr. Eli Corbin pledged $25,000 to the group and West Tennessee Healthcare pledge $90,000.
Friends of Heart’s mission is to place automatic defibrillators (AEDs) in the hands of first responders and others so that when sudden cardiac arrest occurs the victims have a better chance of survival. The group also promotes CPR education.
Mark Taylor, President of Master Medical Equipment of Jackson, has been supplying the group with Zoll AED’s at his cost. The units cost about $1,000 each.
All of the donations go to fund the AEDs.
