Based on the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899, Newsies tells the story of Jack Kelly – a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragtag band of teenage “newsies” who dream of a better life far from the hardships of the streets. When publishing titans raise the distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies his fellow newsies to fight for justice.
