Clara’s Tea Party

Ballet Arts is thrilled to continue your favorite holiday tradition, The Nutcracker, November 28-30, at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. Come experience the magic of The Nutcracker with Clara, Mouse Queen, and Sugarplum Fairy as they go on an enchanting adventure on Christmas Eve.

Before entering the Land of Sweets, come and enjoy some delectable treats at Clara’s Tea Party.  Party goers will visit with some of their favorite characters from The Nutcracker.  Don’t miss the event of the season!  Little ones who attend will receive a special gift for their Christmas tree.

A dream comes to life in this delightful holiday fantasy, young Clara receives a beautiful wooden Nutcracker as a Christmas gift from her mysterious Uncle Drosselmeyer.  After her family’s party, Clara falls asleep and then awakes to find the Nutcracker and his soldiers alive and in a glorious battle with the Mouse Queen.  The injured Nutcracker transforms into the handsome Nutcracker Prince and leads Clara to the magical Kingdom of the Sweets where she is introduced to the Sugar Plum Fairy and her cavalier, Dancing Snowflakes, Angels, Spanish Chocolate, Gingerbread, Chinese Tea, Russian Peppermint, Arabian Chocolate, German Marzipan and Polichinelles perform concluding with the Waltz of the Flowers.  This colorful production, set to the wondrous Tchaikovsky score, will be sure to get you in the spirit of the season and leave you asking, “Was it just a dream?”.
