Enabling Your Skill

There are currently 3 different ways to enable Alexa custom skills. If you experience any issues enabling your custom skill, contact News/Talk 101.5 FM at (731) 423-8316 or email [email protected].

Voice Enablement

“Alexa enable news talk one oh one point five skill”

Alexa will repeat back that it is enabled

Alexa App Enablement

1. Open the Alexa app on your device and go to the menu and select Skills.
2. Select Categories to browse for skills by category. Or, use Search to find a specific skill.
3. When you find a skill you want to use, click on it and select Enable Skill to the right of the page.

Amazon Website Enablement

1. Go go to https://www.amazon.com/skills.
2. Select Categories to browse for skills by category. Or, use Search to find a specific skill.
3. When you find a skill you want to use, click on it and select Enable Skill to the right of the page.

Opening Your Skill

All custom skills require enablement prior to usage.  After you’ve properly enabled a skill, there are a variety of ways to open it.

Open Command

“Alexa, open news talk one oh one point five”

Closing A Skill

To close the News/Talk 101.5 Skill say:

“Alexa, turn off one oh one point five”
