(March 27, 2014) Jackson Tenn – The election qualifying deadline is just a one week away. Most of the races have already qualified but a few races are still open.
Prospective candidates have until April 3rd to qualify for the following races: State Senate 27th District, State Representative 73 District, State Representative 80 district, State Executive Committee Man and Woman, School Board District 1, District 4 Position 1 and 2, District 5 Position 2, District 6 Position 2, City Judge, City Court Clerk.
This week several petitions have been picked up. Dornell Chatman is going to challenge George Neely. Bob Alvey, David Clifft, and Joe Mays have picked up petitions but not turned in. Ernest Brooks, Jr. has picked up to run against Blake Anderson for City Judge.
There is still time for candidates to get petions turned in. Qualifying petions and other paperwork can be picked up at the Madison County Election Office on North Parkway
