On Wednesday, the first day of early voting in Madison County, 165 voters cast ballots in the Presidential Preference Primary.
Prior to the start of early voting, 172 people had voted in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and by mail. 90 of those voters voted in the Republican Primary. 82 voted in the Democratic Primary.
Today, 82 voted in the Republican Primary and 83 voted in the Democratic Primary.
Altogether, this is a combined total of 337
Total votes in the Republican Primary: 172
Total votes in the Democratic Primary: 165
Early voting continues each weekday and on Saturdays through February 25. Weekday hours are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. – Saturdays, 9 a.m. until noon.
The exception is Monday, February 17, when the Election Commission closes in observance of President’s Day. The early voting location is the auditorium in the Madison County Agricultural Complex located at 311 North Parkway in Jackson.
Voters must present a photo ID issued by the State of Tennessee or the United States federal government.
