JACKSON Tenn (April 15, 2015) – Early voting has begun in the City of Jackson’s municipal election . Five candidates are vying for the office of mayor, and three city council seats are contested.
On today’s first day 435 votes were cast Early Voting at the Madison County Agricultural Complex Auditorium. 
Prior to the start of early voting, 151 nursing home and assisted living residents voted, along with 58 voters who have voted by mail resulting in a total of 644 votes at this point.
As a comparison, 4 years ago in 2011, 55 votes were cast on the first day of early voting and with 111 nursing home, assisted living and absentee ballots added, the total was 166 at the end of the first day.
Early voting will continue through April 30. Voting hours are from 9:00 am until 4:00 on weekdays and from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon on Saturdays. Early voting is done at the Madison County Agricultural Complex Auditorium, located at 311 North Parkway. You must bring photo ID with you when you vote.
