Deputies Recover Thousands Of Dollars In Stolen Goods

JACKSON, Tenn. (May 14, 2015)- One man is behind bars and authorities are looking for a second suspect.

Deputies say the suspected burglars triggered an alarm at a Beech Bluff business. The call came in around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Dozens of stolen items were recovered after a high-speed chase with Madison County Sheriff’s deputies ended in the suspects crashing their vehicle.  Deputies in the area spotted the suspects driving an Olds 98 which had been reportedly seen in the area of other recent burglaries.

The incident began at the Mifflin General Store 2096 Beech Bluff road in Beech Bluff.

Deputies say Roger Spencer and Quienton Woods broke out a window at the store. They then allegedly grabbed a case of lottery tickets and just then MCSD deputies arrived and the suspects found themselves in a chase with deputies that ended in one capture and the recovery of stolen property.

Deputies say the two suspects ran from the scene.  Jackson Police Department K-9 tracked down one of the suspects, Roger Spencer, the other suspect, Woods, got away. Quienton Woods was last seen in the area of Phillips Street.

Inside the suspect’s car, they found more than stolen lottery tickets.

Items recovered  include air compressors, 2 leaf blowers, stereos, jewelry, cell phones, silverware and a sawed-off shotgun.

Deputies say both suspects are from Hardeman County.

If you suspect any of the stolen items are yours, contact the Madison County Sheriff’s Office at 731-423-6000.
