MCKENZIE – Brent Dearmon, who was named the new head football coach at Bethel University in December, has named his assistant coaches.
Dearmon has hired Kevin Wewers, Jonathan Wallace, Morgan Cruce, Chris Springer, Bradley Baines, Richard Hutchings, Michael Jasper, Luke Roth and Dustin Kincaid as assistants.
Dearmon, who becomes the 11th head football coach at Bethel history, just completed his third season as offensive coordinator at Arkansas Tech.
Prior to his three years at Tech he spent the previous two seasons on the staff of Gus Malzahn at Auburn University.
Dearmon started for four years at Bethel at quarterback, where he re-wrote the school’s record book en route to the school’s first conference title, first playoff appearance, and first playoff victory.
He remains the school’s career and single-season record holder in passing yards and touchdowns He finished his Wildcat career with 7,045 passing yards and 77 touchdowns.
